Jscott85
I am thinking about changing my O/S from Vista (which is taking up memory) to linux, I was wondering if autodesk products will work with linux, do I need a signed Driver? If not I can just go with windows 7. Any response will be appreciated thank you -Justin
ReMark
I would recommend moving to Windows 7. Is your software 32-bit or 64-bit? If you want to still use Linux and run AutoCAD then take a look at this: http://www.autocadforlinux.com/ Will you be buying a new computer or using the one you have now? If you are going to keep your present computer and just upgrade the software what are the hardware specs? rkmcswain
You might also take a look at ARES Commander Edition for Linux. See this also.
f700es
A linux version of Draftsight is on the way as well. I would just move to Win7 and be done with it myself.
Jscott85
Software is 64 bit, I'm thinking for the sake of simplicity that I might just upgrade, I have heard through the grapevine that linux is a much smooth O/S (granted you get the right version) and moves much faster. If its a matter of DLing a bunch of extras to make it work I would think 7 would be the logical answer. But I'll check out that ARES commander edition. Thanks! -Justin
ReMark
I'm running 2010 64-bit on a Win7 Ultimate 64-bit system with no problems. It does help to have 8GB of RAM too.
