CADnewb Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I have configured my settings and want these settings to be in place for new drawings. When I try to save it as a template it either saves as a dwg or a dfx even though I select the template file type option from the drop down box when saving. I try to save to a custom folder of my choosing - named Templates- but it will not save as a DWT - keeps changing and saving it as a DFX. Using AutoCAD 2009. Any light on how this works would be much appreciated. Quote
Grant Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Hi Does seem strange what is happening, for knowing about .DWT files try the below. Saving a .DWT file should be as easy as saving a .DWG. Maybe try saving it into the current Autocad templates directory then moving it out to your own directory. Link is about .dwt files. http://www.dailyautocad.com/2009/10/autocad-drawing-templates-acadisodwt.html Hope this helps Quote
