I am working on this 3d max file, and the computer went down. when I reopen the file it is damaged, is there any way to recover or reopen the file ? Thank you so much ! Cad64 Posted October 21, 2010 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Start a new file and then Merge the old damaged file into the new file. Hopefully that will work, unless the file is so badly damaged that it cannot be recovered. In the future, you should get into the habit of incrementally saving every so often. You can easily do this by hitting the little "+" button in the "Save" dialog. This basically does a "Save As" and appends a number to the end of the file name, so if Max crashes and the file cannot be recovered, you can go back to one of the previously saved files and not lose all of your work.
