So, I've managed to draw my project and now I need to save it as PDF. When I select Model view, everything is ok and different lines are there (dashed, continuos and centre lines). When I switch to Layout 1 where I've placed my project and the title block, all lines appear as continuos lines. How can I fix this so in PDF file I could see different lines?

I have Autocad 2011 Mac version.

It sounds like you have the linetype scale in model space set to something other than 1. Am I right?

LTSCALE = 1.

Welcome to the CADTutor forum.

From a previous post by another forum member:

Msltscale=1 displays linetypes in Model tab per cannoscale

Psltscale=1 displays linetypes in Paperspace viewports per viewport scale

Ltscale= 1 or to your choosing

I've already changed the linetype scale. It's set to 300 now, because otherwise dashed etc lines would appear as continuos ones. All lines are perfect until I change layouts and copy my drawing to paper view. On "virtual" paper all lineweights are correct but not the types.

Hi Silk,

Welcome to the forum.

In my opinion ReMark is right. If you want to plot from layout, then make shure LTSCALE is set to 1. In modelspace it looks as if it does not work.

Hint: open a new drawing, make a layout with 2 viewports: 1 viewport is set to a scale like 1:50 and the other like 1: 100. Doesn't matter really.

Now go in model space, draw some lines hidden, dashed etc.

If you now have the lines visible (pan / zoom to them) you will see the lines the way you want.

... I believe ... is that what you mean?

MarcoW.

I set LTSCALE back to 1 again and all lines are there... So there's no point changing that value at all and I can't see different linetypes without zooming?

If you use ReMark's suggestion (which I also recommend) you need to set the Psltscale to 1 in each Layout tab, it is not a global system variable.

also make sure that icon on bottom bar is clicked or you cant see custom lines

Thank you all. All lines are where they are supposed to be.
