Dynamic block help please

Hi all,

 

Ive created a dynamic block, but when I insert it, the dynamic selection "triangle" doesn't exist unless I explode the block. How do I enable the dynamic action without exploding?

I think what is happening is you have made a dynamic block and saved the drawing with the dynamic block as a block in your drawing. When you insert that drawing into another drawing the file name becomes a new block and you have a double block/ explode problem.

 

Go into the dynamic block drawing you have done and write block '_w' your dynamic block out

 

start a new drawing and insert the drawing you just write blocked out and you should get your grips without exploding.

Thanks for the suggestion Grant. I felt sure that would solve my problem, but unfortunately, it didn't. I'm new at dynamic blocks, and I think I must've done something wrong while creating it. Maybe I'll start from scratch and try again. I might even look at acad help...nahhh.

OK, I got it now Grant. The dynamic properties are put into the drawing in the block edit mode. NO BLOCK IS CREATED at that time! The drawing is saved. Then when the drawing is inserted as a block, everything works.
