reformat Autocad 2005 license file?

Hi there, I have question.

I used Autocad 2005. But I need reformat my harddrive. re-install win xp sp3

that ACAD2005 license (stand alone licenses ) if re-format, need re-authorized ?

someone said found that path and save all files, when after re-format, and installed autocad, copy that files to there.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\*.*

if same computer, same hardware config, (before was authorized), if re-format O/S, use that method , can without authorized (after) ?

right?

any advice?

Reformat your hard drive. Load your OS. Then load AutoCAD 2005. When it prompts you to connect to the Internet to obtain an authorization code go ahead and do it. I'm pretty sure you'll have no problems getting the code as long as your copy of AutoCAD wasn't a pirated version.

Note: I'm running 2011 at work and just for a test I reloaded 2007 and even though I know I've loaded 2007 at least twice in the past the authorization code came through with no problem.

This has been a question for me for years. Adsk call the old version as legacy, and no longer supported. I've been questioning if "no longer supported" includes reactivation. I've asked around and never get clear answer.

So I'm wondering if you can reactivate the application? I always create a disk image to avoid it from happening. Anytime I need to reinstall, I just use the image and everything restored... includes the licenses.
