clionutta
Morning all. My lines are appearing thick on paperspace, despite appeariong normal on modelspace. I was wondering if there was anything like a variable or setting that could cause this? Help much appreciated, dave
ReMark
Did you inadvertantly toggle the display of lineweights (LWT) when switching to your layout?
Kapanther
Hey buddy. Could be two things. Down the bottom on your tool bar where osnap/polar tracking/ortho are you will see an option could "Show/Hide Line Weights" Just tick it off. Alternatively, you did say it was only in paperspace. So it is probably a setting in your page setup. Go to the paperspace layout where looks all thick Type "PAGESETUP" at the command prompt Click the modify button on the right. Underneath were you can hose a plotstyle. You'll see a check box that say "Display Plot Styles" Make sure it is turned off.
irneb
LWDISPLAY ... there's a toggle button on the status-bar. But this is a DWG-wide variable - so it should cause both the PS & MS lines to be wider. Maybe your PS setup is set to show the pen styles. While on one of these tabs, type PageSetup. Click on the modify button. In the top-right corner there should be the Plot style table grouping ... and a check-box below: Display plot styles. clionutta
Thanks alot. Kapanthers suggestion to the button dwn in the corner beside osnaps etc was the cure. I mustve accidentally switched it on. Simple fix when you know how lol. Thanks again to all for your speedy suggestions. Dave

AndreyG
Hi guys, Sometime when you turn on lineweight using LWDISPLAY control ON - all the lines by default are showing some weight, more than when this option is OFF. In some cases when you have congested drawings and want to highlight just specific Layers - it is difficult to achieve because by default it displays some thickness for ALL layers. To remedy this - RIGHT CLICK on the Show/Hide Lineweight button (should be on the bottom right of your screen - if not - activate it clicking the The-line button in the lower left corner) After Right Click go to Lineweight Settings dialog, For Default option - choose 0.000" and OK the dialog. Now Only layers with Assigned specific Lineweight will display desired Lineweight, the rest will be a hairline linework.
CyberAngel
Well, I'll be hornswoggled, you can learn something every day about AutoCAD. That window also includes a scale slider, not sure what it does yet.

That window also includes a scale slider, not sure what it does yet. It's a How thick do you want them to look? slide for modelspace only, just so you can get a feel for how the line weights relate to each other. The line weights shown with LWDISPLAY on in modelspace are relative percentage of thickness to each other only and not actual size. The slide makes them all thicker or thinner at the same time. The thickness does not change with zoom level, so it will look pretty congested when zoomed way out. In paperspace, they are actual size (to the nearest pixel) with LWDISPLAY toggled on, and do not respond to the slide, but they will look thicker as one zooms in, just like when one moves the paper closer to ones eye. This stuff is also on your OPTIONS>USER PREFERENCES>LIGHTWEIGHT SETTINGS button. Edited November 18, 2019 by Dana W
