Dimension to partially visible feature

What is the best way to dimension a diameter that is only partially visible in a detail view? I can move the extension line off the part, but then the dimension turns pink. Is there someway to get it to ignore the lack of connection to the model?

Thanks Mark. I will have to wait until I get home tonight because the geniuses at my company have blocked access to half the internet to make me more productive. I'll check it out when I get home.
