paul1966
i have been asked by a client to add a plot style to their drawing templates, i have dragged and dropped them into the plot style manager, so is that all that needs to be done? rkmcswain
If you mean a plot style table, then they are not saved with the drawing, so you can't really do what your client is asking. Plot style tables are referenced at printing time. Maybe I misunderstood?
paul1966
not sure, i've been emailed two .ctb files and been told that these will enable linetypes to print correct. by the way i don't actually print anything, all drawings are put on buzzsaw for the main client to print from, so should they have the .ctb files on their cad station for when they print off the drawings? rkmcswain
Whoever is going to print to hardcopy or DWF/PDF will need the CTB files. Anyone can work on the drawings without the proper plot style, although the plot preview won't look right. Sounds like you just need to pass on the .CTB files to the next party... paul1966
so am i right in thinking that the plot style will over ride the line type settings i used when i did my drawings, i have done a lot of drawings and had to alter line types and scales accordingly. rkmcswain
The plot style table typically will only alter the lineweight and plot color, and won't have any effect on linetypes (other than width [i.e. lineweight]). But it's possible. To find out, you will have to add the plot style table to your plot style table support path, then either run PAGESETUP or PLOT, then proceed to edit the plot style table, looking at the linetype for each color. justAnIntern
you can probably use the feature "e-transmitt". this will put the plot style table, text files, and exrefs into a zip file.
