Marc5 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Good Morning: Using ADT2010. Can the location of the same room tag be in one location for one scale and a different location for another scale? I have a floor plan at 3/32 scale. The room tags (text) in the small rooms like closets is too big and I need to move the tag (text) to the outside of the room space. When I do this, the room tag for the same space at 1/4" scale moves also. At 1/4 scale the room tag (text) fits nicely in the room. Please advise. Thanks, Marc Quote
ReMark Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Yes, the locations of the two tags can be different. Use the ANNORESET command to reset the locations. Quote
Marc5 Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Thanks. With the info you sent it helped me figure out that I can move annos with grips and have the room names in different locations in different VP at different scales. Now my plans read well. Thanks again. Marc Quote
Marc5 Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 ReMark: Maybe you can help me on two other items. 1. The door tag "out of the box" circle is too large. It is to the correct annotative scale, it is just larger than what I want. How do I go about making the door tag circle smaller without decreasing the size of the text? 2. The door tag "out of the box" is a circle can I make it another shape? Thanks, Marc Quote
ReMark Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) I assume you are working in model space. Have you applied any annotative scales to the symbol yet? Remember that when you go into your layout and look at your drawing through a viewport that has been assigned a scale the block should be sized correctly. I do not use AutoCAD Architectural so I cannot tell you if the dynamic block for a door tag can be a shape other than a circle. Have you checked your Help file? I'd hope that Architectural programmers would give users some basic options over the shapes they wish to use with any given symbol. Edited December 16, 2010 by ReMark Quote
Marc5 Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Yes, annotative scales are assigned to the tag and all is working fine in respect to the VP's and it reletive scale. What I want to do is to change the ORIGINAL tag so the circle of the tag is smaller. Say the original tag circle, when created, "out of the box" is 1" in diameter but I want to be 3/4" in diameter. Can I change its size? When I insert the tag the space between the circle and the text has too much "white space". I would like to reduce this "white space. What this will do is make the tag circle smaller so, in my opinion, look better. Any advise, Thanks, Marc Quote
ReMark Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 This is a dynamic block and as such there are parameters assigned to it that, in some cases, will allow the user various options while other parameters will be fixed (no options). Since I don't have the tag in front of me it is going to be tough to figure out what can or cannot be done with it. I've used dynamic blocks sparingly in my line of work so I'm a bit in the dark on the subject at the moment. Unfortunately all my reference material is at my work location. I'm telecommuting today. I'm sure someone much smarter than me will be along shortly with an answer that will enlighten both of us. Hang tight. Quote
Marc5 Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Okay. Will do. Have a good day and thanks for the help. Marc Quote
