sbro238 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Hey, Is there anyway to make a region enclosed by a set of lines "opaque" That is, if I place them over other lines/objects, the lines/objects over which they are placed are not visible. Thanks, Seth Quote
ReMark Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I think you might be talking about a WIPEOUT. Quote
sbro238 Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Sort of, although i'd like to preserve the contents of the shape, sort of underneath the shape itself. So if I was to move the shape, whatever was inside the shape would still be there. Quote
ReMark Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 The contents of the shape? Why do you think whatever is behind the wipeout is going to disappear? Quote
sbro238 Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Ah, I assumed that wipeout (as the name might imply) just deleted everything within specified boundaries. Excuse my incompetence, i'm only new. I shall have a go at using the wipeout tool when I get back into work on Monday (I don't have access to AutoCad at home). Thank you very much once again ReMark. You're certainly making my life a whole lot easier right now. Thanks again, Seth. Quote
ReMark Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Just to confirm...wipeout will not delete any objects being masked over. I typically use wipeout with polyline frames. The user can elect to keep or remove the frame when the wipeout is created. Quote
frank3875 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Wipeout won't delete anything. While I don't think it is necessarily as easy as clicking an object and making it opaque, the way I have always done what you described is by creating a wipeout and sending it below certain objects and above others using the draw order. Using that method you can see the objects on top and cover the objects below. Quote
