roina
Hi, I've been trying to get hold of the 3d model of Clifford's Tower in York (England) and finally found it but can't convert it into a dwg file. I've done a bit of research and learned that the free version of Sketchup (available from Google Earth) hasn't got the option of exporting a file to autocad. This, unfortunately, has got me stuck and has forced me to either find somebody that can help me or build the tower from scratch using basic drawings. Can anyone help me with getting this 3d model into autocad? The model's available on: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=5467bfb5ad234c81b6edd9f9e504b8d7 Many thanks, Roina
f700es
Well you can install the 8 hour demo of SketchUp pro and use it to export out to a dwg. Be prepared though, most SketchUp models from 3D warehouse are utter rubbish! DoubleCAD XT (free cad program) can open SketchUp files and save out as .dwg files as well. Good luck
roina
Yay! Managed to open it in Autocad finally! One thing though, is there a way i can convert this block into a solid? Not that I need it to be but it would be handy! Thanks for the help f700es!
