googling dwg diagrams

Recommended Posts

Hi

1: One can search for JPG or GIF files by using "Advanced Search" option of Google. How do I search for DWG files/diagrams which I could modify in ACAD. I'm using ACAD 2005.

2: Is this possible to convert JPG image into DWG one? Can I modify that converted DWG in ACAD? I don't think I could.

Please let me know. Thanks a lot.

1. What are you trying to search for? There are plenty of resources available where you can find .dwg files.

2. No you can not convert a .jpg to a .dwg. There are programs out there that can can convert .pdf to .dwg but they can be unstable.

Sample files were shipped with earlier releases as I recall. Look in your AutoCAD program file directory for a folder called (what else) SAMPLES.

You want to convert a jpg to a dwg and then edit the resultant file? How big of a bottle of aspirin do you have? Not recommended.

Thank you, everyone.

ReMark: what are you trying to say? Is it a reference to hard disk's space?

I'm an English learner. Could you please give me a search phrase to use on Google to find DWG files on electrical circuits?

Thanks.

I am saying you'll have a lot of headaches trying to edit a drawing that was converted from a jpg to a dwg file. It isn't worth the aggravation.

Electrical circuits? Have you tried "autocad"+"electrical"+"dwg"?

Some of these types of drawings may have been made with the AutoCAD Electrical program and may be problematic when it comes to editing them. You probably wouldn't even be able to open the drawings. Why these types of drawings? What do you hope to achieve?

A sample electrical schematic for you to play with. The file was saved in AutoCAD 2000 file format so you should have no problem opening it. Don't ask me any questions about because I will respond with the words "I don't know." Are we clear?

The drawing was created with plain AutoCAD and not AutoCAD Electrical. That should make it a bit easier for you to edit. Have fun.

Thanks a lot, ReMark.

My intentions are good. Just wanted to play around with simple already drawn circuits. Other drawings such as related to artchitect work are very complicated. And the one you attached is way too much complicated too. :-)

Thanks.

In other words...Don't give me what I asked for, give me what I need.

Simple circuits? Heck, get out your elementary school science book then and start drawing your own. Battery, wires, knife switch, socket with bulb. There you go. How much simpler could it be? And make sure you draw each to their real world dimensions.

What are you trying to accomplish actually? Does the drawing have to be a schematic? Did you check the Sample drawings folder I mentioned?

jackson6612, if you are trying to draw electronic circuitry, there are many software packages available that will do that better than AutoCAD. Go to google and search for "electronic circuit design software" or "circuit board design software". Many of them are freeware or shareware.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jack. But I want to learn ACAD because it is a multipurpose software so in future I could use it to draw something entirely different.

Don't give me what I asked for, give me what I need.

You have it right. I'm really bad at articulating my needs.

That's other thread. Yes, I have been learning the things you and other guys told me there and I'm going to post a couple of question there in that thread. So, please be there to help. Thanks a lot.
