buildings lose their textures

hello... I am a beginner in 3ds max so please explain to me step by step on how I can fix this... thanx...

Im trying to render with a daylight mr Sky mr Sun and mental ray setting and when i change the preset in the render window my buildings lose their textures...

Can you post some examples? Some screenshots or renders so I can see what's happening? The render presets have nothing to do with your textures, so I don't understand what's going on.

there is a rendering setting, when set to metal ray, to use one material for the entire scene...under the render setup find the processing tab > translator options there is a material override...make sure that this is not ticked (as it may be part of that preset?)...

That is a possibility. If he's using the "mental.ray.hidden.line.contours" preset, the material override is enabled.

 

It would help if the OP would come back and give us more information. :roll:
