This has got me beaten, but probably something very easy:?

I am using 2010 and the issue started when I tried to copy and paste between drawings. I can copy but the paste option was greyed out. Tried to copy and paste within the same drawing and I can't. Also if I select an item I cannot delete it.

The only way I can get around this is to select copy with based point. The select the based point, then select the items and then escape. Only then can I paste. Its a long winded way of doing things along with not being able to delete I am rapidly loosing my sense of humour!

Anybody any ideas what have enabled/disabled or srewed up for this to happen?

Thanks

Was the drawing you are working on originally created with 2007?

Not sure about the origianal drawing. Although I have tried a drawing I created this morning and and the same thing happens.

Just asked a friend to try on their PC and it works fine. Wondering if its worth re-installing the software?

out of curiosity... what is PICKFIRST set to? it should be 1

It was set to 0 and now I have changed it everything is working fine.

Thank you for the help! Instead of a beer to drowned my sorrows now its time for one of celebration!

Are you using any custom LISP routines?? sometimes these programs will turn certain things off, and if not coded properly can really give you a headache in the future...

Before doing an uninstall / reinstall I would try the Repair option first. But I don't think we are quite there yet.

How is it that you do not know what version of AutoCAD was used to originally create the drawing? Is the drawing yours or did it come from another source?

Is 2010 current with Update 1?

This isn't moot court. One can strike their own posts as I have been inclined to do from time to time.
