GMiller
When I click File then Open I get a list of files in the default directory. How can I set the view to a "list" rather than a preview with icons? Every time I go to open a file I have to set it to list or details. Thanks in advance. Strix
does it do it in every program? if so, it's a windows setting rather than AutoCAD
GMiller
No. I changed the default windows settings. ACad is the only program that doesn't want to conform. It just gets annoying hitting View/List in order to see the full file names. There has to be a way to set the default to "List" rather than "Preview"
rkmcswain
If your profile is correct and you are using version 2000 and your O/S is WinXP or later, then the behavior you are seeing is as designed. http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS70062
GMiller
Thanks for the info. Wonder if they will ever "fix" it.
rkmcswain
Never. AutoCAD 2000 came out in 1999, a few years before WinXP. They are not going to go back and "fix" applications to work with operating systems that were not even released at the time...
