samifox Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi Im using Autocad LT. I spend lots of time on joining lines. I do it by typing pedit, selecting all liens, and hoping that it will work so I don’t need to do the selection again. Since im kind of new to AutoCAD, I wonder, what is the fastest, most productive way of joining lines? is there a reselect command? how draw a selection? Thanks Shay Quote
ReMark Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Draw using polylines and direct distance entry and avoid some of the "line joining" tedium you're putting yourself through. Otherwise, use the MULTIPLE option of the Pedit command. How to draw a "selection" or do you be a "section"? Quote
nestly Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Polyline Join lisp by Lee Mac is far faster than PEDIT. I use it all the time, and I've even created a button for it on my toolbars. http://lee-mac.com/polylineprograms.html How it works: http://www.screencast.com/t/ILha0rPzQs Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 as remark suggested, draw in polylines to start with will save you some of that. another little trick that works in autocad, and i assume it will in LT as well is a zero radius fillet. if you select the polyline first, it will convert a line to a polyline and join it to the one you picked first. I draw the cross section of brake metal shapes that way all the time. Quote
