Erikve Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Dear all, I designed a photomask with micrometer-sized structures in Autocad. I try to save it do DWX (or better to CIF, but that's not directly possible with autocad), there the mask-maker can handle it. However whatever I try the structures seems to dissappear if I try to open it in another program like illustrator, Clewin, etc. I think I should save it somehow on a different way such that I save more detailed, but I cannot find how. Has somebody an idea? I inserted external blocks, it looks like it do not recognize these, do I need to link this somehow? Thanks in advance! Erik Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Your saving options are limited to DWG and DXF. One option under EXPORT is DWFX. Would that work? As to these external blocks you're talking about are they DWG files? Link what to what? I don't understand your question. More details would be welcomed. Quote
Erikve Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 In principle I'm not limited in saving. I just want to end with a CIF-file in where I can see the micrometer-structures. This DWFX I tried, but gives also crap-pictures in where lots of drawed figures are missing. I didn't draw all figures directly in the mask, but Imported them by importing another DWG-file. This makes a block of the imported file which in some program appear as only the name, which might suggests that I somehow have to link to this. Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Sorry, I have no idea then how to go from a DWG to a CIF file format without losing something in the process. Quote
CyberAngel Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 If you have external references in a drawing that are not showing in an exported file, you may need to check the layer(s) your xrefs are on. They should be plottable layers. If you are exporting to an image, you may need to adjust the resolution. Sometimes the image "plotter" seems to change resolution by dropping whole rows and columns of pixels, which can drop entire objects (especially thin lines). Quote
