I am starting up my class again using AutoCAD Civil 2011. I want to extrude a circle or just a closed pline to a solid. I have done this many times before, but now it is not extruding to a solid, just a "Surface Extrusion". My commands are C:circle;

C:region; (shows as filled circle and confirms it is a region); and finally C: extrude ; when I extrude it it is not a solid but rather a hollow "Surface Extrusion" . Can anyone help with this? Is it a function of 2011 and something I have turned on? Thanks!

SURFACEMODELINGMODE look it up in help.

I should mention that I was not aware of this sysvar. I started help, looked up Extrude, and the answer was right there.

Thanks, but it is still not working. When I put into the command line C:SURFACEMODELINGMODE; the choices are 0 default or 1. No matter what one I choose I still am not getting a solid. I am using a student version of 2011; not that it should make a difference. I also have a licensed version of 2011 and that one is making a solid, so there must be something else I think. Any more ideas?

Notice when you start the extrude command there is a MOde option, type MO, enter, ....

I may have misinterpruted the help file but I did find the answer by going back to help and looking at Extrude some more. Hint, Hint.
