what do you mean trial? there is an autoLISP that will convert mesh to solid. I have a post about it in this forum. As far as adding/subtracting mesh surfaces, i dont know that there is a way but if there is i would like to know. I have used other software packages that would let you SEW a surface to another.

Autolisp

those arent one piece on the car ;)

The sew command isnt in Acad, it was another cad software i used and as far as i know there isnt a way to join mesh surfaces unless you create them as a single surface.

also if you have single facets you can use the thicken command.

acad 07 and up will convert a surface to solid under the tools menu i think. but this will not work for mesh surfaces.

the autolisp is basically a "code" that is run in autocad. you have to load the lisp(*.lsp document) and then whatever the file name is (say m2s for mesh 2 solid) you type m2s in the command line and run it. its very simple but i had to convert my solids to BREP before i could union them, and it didnt like having over/under hangs
