Problem with display fonts

I am getting on well with AutoCAD but when I try something new I often find a problem. The solution is usually simple.

I want to either…

Import a graphics image form a paint programme or an illustration both of which are in JPG format. I can’t find a way to do this.

OR

Use display fonts to recreate the graphic directly in AutoCAD.

For instance, I want to use an uncommon font “Monotpe Corciva”, Although this is listed in the styles manager it does not display in the Model Space. Where am I going wrong?

Any help will be appreciated

You can try the IMAGEATTACH command or bring the image in as an OLE object.

The font you want to use is a TrueType font? It's listed in the Style Manager which means you must have gone through the process of creating a new font style right? Did you make the style "Current" so it could be used?

Thanks ReMark

With respect to the Fonts…

I might not have done, but I have now, and there is no difference.

The font does not show in the sample window of the “Text Style” Dialogue box. All that can be seen there is something that looks like the standard default font

It could just be this particular font as I have now tried others and most seam to work OK

I will try the IMAGEATTACH soon and respond.

Style > New New Text Style name (name it MonoCor). Click OK.

Look at left pane. Highlight MonoCor.

Look at right pane. Font Name (use down arrow to scroll throught list) > Monotype Corsvia. Click the Set Current button (far right). When asked, "Do you want to save your changes?" respond 'Yes'. Done.

Now go use it in your drawing.

Thanks again ReMark

What you suggest is what I had already done – but I did it again anyway.

Sorry - still did not work.

Have you tried this on your copy of AutoCAD?

I’m using AutoCAD 2011 under Windows 7. Would this make any difference?

The Monotype Corciva font works in all my other applications
