woodman78 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hi, I was here this morning browsing and came across a lisp for automatically drawing chevron hatch between two lines as road hatching. I can't find it now though. Does anyone know it is? Thanks. Quote
SOliver Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I'd recommend using either the forum search or if you're not having any luck with that google with "site:cadtutor.net" in the query Quote
Organic Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I would be interested in this if you find it. After doing a quick google/forum search I was unable to find anything much about it other than http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Visual-LISP-AutoLISP-and-General/linestyle-lisp-routine-question/td-p/1047210 I'm sure Civil 3D can do it somehow although most people normally manually do it as above. SOliver Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Hehe I think there is a thread running on first page of the forum that does what you're looking for. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?57826-HELP!-Want-to-draw-a-series-of-45-degrees-lines-between-2-points You might need to extend it a bit so as it changes the properties of the line to the appropriate weight. EDIT: Forgot; The thread itself is worth a read but the script I think you're looking for is on page two created by Lee Mac. Quote
Organic Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I did see that earlier although I don't think that really helps that much with chevron as it doesn't function around arc geometry well and would need to be extended a fair bit. It is still useful for other purposes though, such as indicating the fixed supports with regards to the structural beam etc as shown in that image in that thread. A custom hatch is probably the best way to go indeed though for creating chevron easily. Haven't had much experience with those so might try to make one later. Quote
SOliver Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 In that case would the polar array function suffice? Quote
