Point Filters!?

Select the line and rectangle, pick the grip of line pt B, type .XY enter, pick the grip on rectangle pt B, now pick line pt B grip, repeat for A-A.

By typing .XY you are telling the program to ignore the Z coordinate, you pick on the rectangle and it accepts the XY coordinates, now it needs the Z coord, when you pick on the endp of the line you are specifying the Z coordinate. You can type @, enter when it asks for the Z coordinate. There are several ways to accomplish this, so others will no doubt pipe in.

1. Grip the line

2. Pick grip "A"

3. At the "Specify stretch point" prompt, type in .XY

4. Pick the new point "A" (you can use endp osnap)

5. When it prompts you for the new "Z", enter @

6. Repeat steps 2-5 for endpoint "B"

I do it slightly differently.

1. Grip the line

2. Pick grip "A"

3. type .Z

4. Pick point "A" again to keep the elevation the same as existing.

5. Pick a new endpoint when it prompts for a new .XY
