I have a model and various layouts and sometimes my text layer is visible in the layouts but some times not. Also I have noticed some lines missing, can anyone help? Im quite new to cad

It is probably an issue with with layers being turned on or off, or layers frozen.

Go to the Layer Properties Manager (i.e. the window where you can create new layers and manage layers) and make sure all your layers are turned on (lightbulb icon is on) and are not frozen (the snow flake icon).

When inside of a viewport that is 'missing' layers, go to Layer Properties Manager as above and for those 'missing' layers scroll across to the right in there and see if they are frozen (turned off) in that viewport.

You can freeze/off layers in viewports independently. If you activate a Viewport and bring up the Layer Manager (type LAYER) you'll find a column called VP Freeze, that controls visability in the viewports.

thanks but all my layers are un frozen and visible.

is it some thing to do with purge which i learned to do yesterday? or audit?

Nah, Purge and Audit don't remove stuff that are in use.

It could also be annotations that are messing with you, especially if its just texts that are visible on and off. In your model, highlight a text that is shown randomly and bring up Properties (Type PR). Is the Annotative set to Yes? Set it to No and see if you can see it now.
