Raudel Solis Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 uhm explain the boundary process again is it vertex by vertex? post some pics about the process? either way i like my process better, since what if i needed to calculate the area then using boundary would require using the area command, while the boundary command only shows perimeter, it does not show area, compared to the area command that shows both area and perimeter, i think i won this round. nestly Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 i think i won this round. Won? I think you're so far behind you can't even see the guys in front of you. http://screencast.com/t/RDSgNPk5D Quote
Raudel Solis Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 oh wow i guess now im running beside you Quote
fuccaro Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 With the Boundary (or Bpoly) command you get a closed polyline. From here you can see the perimeter and the area, you can count the vertexes and so. Quote
eldon Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 i think i won this round. I think that you are unwilling to try something new. If you were to show any promise, you would have found out about the Boundary command by yourself, and not wait until it was handed to you on a plate. Quote
Dana W Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 :lol:This reminds me of that old joke about Congress trying to decide what to do with a dead horse. Quote
eldon Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 :lol:This reminds me of that old joke about Congress trying to decide what to do with a dead horse. I am afraid that I don't know that joke. Did the dead horse have a Perimeter problem also Quote
nestly Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Did the horse die from old age while attempting to calculate the perimeter of many overlapping rectangles? Quote
designerstuart Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Look into the Boundary and Area commands hint... draw a rectangle to encompass all first so funny that the first reply to this massive thread is the only one necessary..... thought i'd join in on filling out an already massively overweight solution. ANOTHER HINT: if you have read this far, and still don't know the perimeter, abandon all hope.... (but i do want to know more about the dead horse) Quote
eldon Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Nope... it was a stroke... Probably a Fence crossing problem. Quote
resullins Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 So... are there any theories as to where the OP went? Perhaps he missed the sentence in the email notifications that says: There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again. So maybe he thinks no one else has answered? I want to know who was right about the definition of the project. Quote

qball Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I learned BOUNDARY today! aka BPOLY or BO for short. Quote
