sump placement in 2011

One of the engineers here is having trouble with a sewer system. He started it in C3D2008 and then upgraded the drawings. Now the manhole sumps are acting strangely.

The basic problem, as I understand it, is that the sump depths define themselves, where before you could change them in the structure properties. When he uses a jig to move the bottom of the structure, he winds up moving the end of a pipe.

Has anyone encountered this situation? Is it a bug or a new way of defining structures?

Im using 2010, so Im not sure if this helps, but I can do it through structure properties.

Structure properties/Parts Properties tab/Sump Behavior tree

You can control the sump by depth or elevation.

Thanks, but apparently they changed something between 2010 and 2011. I can find only one way to adjust the bottom of the structure without moving a pipe--change the distance between the rim and the sump ... which means you have to readjust the sump depth every time a pipe moves. He'd like to have a mechanism that lets you set the sump depth relative to the invert out.
