nowikovs12 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Hi there, I have a spline and I want to apply a multiple blocks to it, so that the blocks fallow along the spline, usually I used thease two methods - Use the "MEASURE" command if you need to array the blocks at a distance from one and other which you enter as part of the process. If you wanted to divide the path into a number of segments, and then array the blocks at the points at which the path divides, then use "DIVIDE". It works in the same way, only you choose the number of segments to split the path into as opposed to the length of each segment. Create the block, the thing you want to array (the BLOCK command) Draw the path, for example, an ellipse. Use the command: MEASURE Select the object which forms the path Type "b" (for block) enter Type the name of the block you want to array enter Type or leave "y" in to align the block against the object enter Type the desired length of segment enter , and used it for a very long time, worked fine, but tried to use it yesterday and today the blocks go all over the drawing space, they don't fallow the spline, like I said, used this method all the time, worked fine, restarted the program, restarted the pc, any advice? or maybe there is a nother way to fallow a block along the path? thank you Quote
dbroada Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 no help but I have done this in the past also so I tried again just now. And guess what, it still works here using ACADE 2008. When was the last time you sucessfully tried? Have you been "upgraded" since? Quote
nowikovs12 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 hi there dbroada, last time I used it was end of February, worked fine as well, now I it's all over the place as soon as press enter, no I haven't been upgraded, usd 2010 version all this time Quote
JD Mather Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 ... tried to use it yesterday and today the blocks go all over the drawing space... Attach your file here. My guess is that your block insertion point isn't where you think it is. Quote
nowikovs12 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Right, strange, there seams to be no issue with the program, as I just tried the command on a different project, and it worked fine, tried again on this project, it's all over the place, I have to say that I am working on a much larger scale Quote
nowikovs12 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Right, ok JD Mather, please have a look and let me know Quote
nowikovs12 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 JD Mather you were right, when creating a block I didn't check the green arrow to specify the insertation point, thank you for quick replies and help guys Quote
