lck Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I have set up text styles in a certain drawing to suit the different cad standards but when I open a new drawing they dont exist without me copying and pasting some text with that assigned style into it, is there any way of making these appear everytime I open cad? dbroada Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 If you mean BRAND NEW drawing then set them up in your main.dwt template drawing. If you mean an existing drawing then you can drag them from another drawing using Design Center or (I think) a tool palette. Quote
Dana W Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) I have set up text styles in a certain drawing to suit the different cad standards but when I open a new drawing they dont exist without me copying and pasting some text with that assigned style into it, is there any way of making these appear everytime I open cad? "Styles" only exist in the drawing where they are created. Indeed, set up a template drawing with all your needed customizations in it already. Resist the temptation to use the 'prior drawing' for a template, then delete the old drawing objects. Eventually this will lead to a great deal of confusion about which old drawing has what custom items, and it will create the need for frequent 'Purges'. Edited May 11, 2011 by Dana W Quote
designerstuart Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 i know you want automatically loaded styles, but i have a little block i insert with all layers, styles etc in. if i ever want one of my standard items, just insert the block. and as i don't insert anything else, my insert dialog box goes straight to it. not pretty, but good enough for me.
