FIFTHTEXAS
hi ai there a way to edit a colour of an x-ref whilst in different drawings, using the same x-ref in each of say 10 drwings, but in a couple of the drawings you would like the x-ref to act in a different way visually, a standard colour grey is used in most of the drawings, but i would like in a couple of the drawings to make the x-ref really light, for use in specific areas, is there a way you can set how your xref looks in each drawings, or can it only perform in one way on all drawings, thanx
Tiger
If you have VISRETAIN set to 1, the changes you make to the Layer Structure of the X-ref is saved with your drawing.
designerstuart
yes open layer menu, select xref in left hand pane, select all in right hand pane (now you have selected all layers from that xref in this drawing) then just change to whatever colour you want. VISRETAIN is useful here - it determines if these colours are saved and is possibly the best way to undo colour changes.

irneb
This is probably the biggest reason you should draw everything on colour ByLayer. Otherwise there's no way you'll get the colours working as you've stated. BTW, that's also why there's a command SetByLayer (Modify --> Change to ByLayer).
