ReMark Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Post the drawing file. Maybe someone here will have better luck. Quote
alkumar Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Hi The file has 140mb and the attachements doesn't upload it.....grrrrrrrrrrrr could I send it through e-mail? Quote
ReMark Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 140MB? Is that correct? Could it be you have exceeded the limitations of your computer? Yes...the upload file size for DWG files is fairly low here. I have no control over that. Quote
alkumar Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 I just realize that is to large even for gmail attachements Quote
ReMark Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Please see my post previous to yours above. Do you receive any "out of memory" errors? Does AutoCAD hang or crash? Quote
SLW210 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Have you tried renaming the .bak or .sv$ files and opening them? Quote
alkumar Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 It should work on: processor Intel®Corei7 CPU 920@2.67GHz memory(ram) 6.00GB system type 64-bit graphics ATI Radeon HD 5700 series Quote
Organic Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 140mb... no wonder you are having trouble opening it. Quote
alkumar Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 I tried to rename the back files but still doesn't open and also doesn't receive any out of memory errors. Quote
alkumar Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Hi, One of the main problems for me is that the objects in Auto CAD look like they are made of surface curves, and when I save this out as a DWG and import in 3DS Max it appears as though through the conversion process vertices are getting welded where they shouldnt be, Is there a way I can take a model in Auto CAd and collapse the history so that what I am exportign is pure polyginal data, this I hope would stop any quirky welding between Auto CAD and Max. SLW210 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Does it actual refuse to open or do you just get tired of waiting? Quote
ReMark Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 So you have solved your original problem of not being able to open the drawing in AutoCAD and are now asking for help with this second problem? Quote
