billharpo Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I'm still in Mechanical 2005. I did an IGESIN of an IGES surface of a boat and AutoCAD crashed in the middle. Nothing special on the 13 MB file, I reimported it later and it came in OK. But on reimporting it, I typed IGESIN and got a command line: "IGES Filename: " I typed a tilde "~" to get a simple file dialog box with "IGES Fileame" at the top and navigated to the file. Then I got an "Options File: " command prompt. Restarting AutoCAD and rebooting the machine have no effect. All the IGESIN / IGESOUT dialog boxes seem to be gone. And I really like the options interface which I lost. I know my Filedia setting is at 1. I dont know what else could do it. My vendor is telling me that I can't reinstall Autocad Mechanical 2005 beccause I didn't buy the subscription when I bought the 2008 upgrade. I really don't have the time and patience to work out all the bugs in the newer version and relearn how to work the custom menu interface and such. And some of my LISP and VBA stuff dont work the same in 2008. And few of the menus came through right. Am I whining? Anyone have any suggestions how to get my IGESIN functionality back without reinstalling? Quote
SEANT Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 How about CMDDIA? Is that set to 1 as well? Quote
billharpo Posted October 3, 2008 Author Posted October 3, 2008 That was it! I knew there was something I was overlooking. I learned most of my programming before there were dialog boxes. I forgot all about CMDDIA. Everything is now looking good. Thank you SeanT Quote
