surveyroads Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I am just trying to compare a surface that was provided from a different survey company of the original ground of the borrow pit. Although I used the same control I feel that there is something not matching with the elevations of the original ground provided and the outside of pit original ground measured this time. How do I check that the original ground is matching up in elevation?? I can adjust this I just dont know how to tell by how much or what is the best way?? Thanks Quote
Tyke Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Create a DTM of the original surface and another one of the current surface. Then do a differential DTM to get the volume. You can also visualize the two surface DTMs in different colours and use 3D orbit to fly around and zoom in to check for any differences in the ground that should be the same elevation. If you find a difference you can adjust on of the two original DTMs so that they match up. Quote
