bass_mark00
I need to work on a set of floorplans which have been created in Architecture but need to be edited by users using AutoCAD. Exploding causes too much damage, is there a quick method of reducing everything to 2D and making it suitable for editing in AutoCAD? (similar to bursting attributes) Thanks Mark
ReMark
FLATSHOT, SECTIONPLANE and SOLPROF are three options available to you.
SLW210
Export to AutoCAD or something like that I forgot the command. A quick search should find it.
bass_mark00
Thanks ReMark, I think FLATSHOT is probably going to be best. SECTIONPLANE probably won't offer the required flexibility and with SOLPROF I think I'll lose the benefits of the existing layers. I'll give it a go. Thanks I'll give EXPORT a go, that would make a lot of sense. Just waiting for the file to be emailed through. Mark
tzframpton
Best way to do it is through the EXPORT option. If you're in a Top View and export, it will flatten everything as 2D linework. If you're in any other type of view, including a 3D Orbited view, then it will export as solids and not as AEC Objects.
bass_mark00
Thanks very much, EXPORT got us exactly what we wanted.
