khoshravan
This is more of a trigonometry question, but I want to know if there is an easier ACAD solution for drawing. In the given triangle of ABC (sides and angels are known) I want to draw line CM so that the area of BCM becomes 2000 cm (are of ABC is 5311.7 cm3). Is there an easy ACAD way for drawing this line without using trigonometry for calculation? eldon
There is a way, but it is not very elegant. Draw the closed polyline BCM. Set up a UCS on side AB. Keep an eye on the Properties (area of polyline) as you drag M along AB. If you have set up the UCS along AB, then using Ortho, point M must stay on the line AB. BIGAL
Had a quick look maybe you can use a constraint you still need the trig though to work out area of triangle. Option 2 parcels in civ 3D Option 3 Lisp again trig

This is a good idea although it is not an exact solution but it will satisfy me as I am not looking for exact number. But it would be great if we could program Area box of properties and position of point M as parameter. I think it is not impossible but at leat in a higher than my knowledge level. Option 2 parcels in civ 3D Option 3 Lisp again trig I am not using civ 3D. Does it have easy command for this purpose? If you come with a solution regarding your Option 3, pleasse let me know. For the time being I am using eldon's method.

But if you go to programming, then trigonometry will have to be used.
