I want my north arrow to come in at 90 (pointing up). Then I want 3 grips that you click to either rotate it to 0,180,or 270. Is this possible?

Would it work to just rotate about the center 90, 180 or 270 degrees? Or turn on ortho and when you rotate, it will pop between the cardinal directions of your UCS.

whats wrong with adjusting its rotation through the block insertion dialog box?

Double click on your block to open the Edit Block Definition window. Click on the block name. At the next screen choose the Rotation Parameter. Then click on the Action tab. Choose the Rotate action. Assign to the parameter you just added. That should get you started. When done close the Block Editor and save your block.

This one has a rotation parameter that allows you to set any angle you want. Click the arrow to turn on the grips, click the blue circle under the 'N', and enter an angle. In this one, zero is straight up, and positive angles go counter-clockwise. If you enter 90, the N moves to the right, 180 will put it straight down, 270 will put it on the left. Any angle you wish can be entered, just remember that you are entering the angle it would be from straight up. You'll see what I mean when you play with it a bit.

Any of y'all want this are welcome to it.

I did this, but I have to manually rotate it to one of those positions. I wanted something cool like the "flip" arrow does. Click it and it goes there.

By manual, do you mean dragging it there? All you have to do is type the angle and hit enter in the one I put up. To do what you want, you could use a visibility state, have the N at each point and turn on the one you want.

here's one that uses visibility states. sorry it took so long, been a while since i used that parameter and had to remember how it all worked.

In this version, just click the arrow, then click the blue triangle, and pick the one you want.
