tennis4you Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Is there a way to make model space look like paper space? All the dotted lines I have to draw are always solid in paper space and then I have to go to paper space to see if they look OK (scale-wise). Kinda a weird concept to get used to. The problem is I will miss it sometimes until a print is made and you see see the mistake. Quote
SuperCAD Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Make sure MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE are set to the same vaule. Quote
Dana W Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Make sure MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE are set to the same vaule. And multiply your default (1.00) LTscale by your viewport scale factor. Do a test view or two and adjust as needed. Quote
tennis4you Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 Thanks. But both are set to 1. When I tried changing the MSLTSCALE it says I can only use 0 or 1. Quote
CyberAngel Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Thanks. But both are set to 1. When I tried changing the MSLTSCALE it says I can only use 0 or 1. In the long run it will be worth your while to do a little research and find out what these commands do. MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE are toggles, not scale factors. Quote
ReMark Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I just don't really worry about how model space looks since when I use layouts/viewports all I'm concerned about is how it will print. It's probably easier for me than some people because I don't use a great many layers in my drawings so when I see a dark blue line in model space I know that is my layer for hidden lines. When I see a green line in model space I know that is for my centerlines. You mention scaling viewports. I'm curious. What types of drawings do you do? I know a couple of people who have given up on model space altogether and draw everything in paper space (they don't need viewports then). But they mainly do schematics so there is little call for something to be shown/drawn to scale. Quote
tennis4you Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 I am an Architect so I am working on homes and commercial buildings. Just moved from MicroStation 6 months ago so I am still learning. I guess when I say "scale-wise" I just meant the line has it's dashes and dots looking. Basically I have the LTScale at .6 and that makes everything look good in paper space except batt insulation. Quote
ReMark Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I kind of thought that you might be. Then it makes sense to be utilizing both model and paper space. Thanks. BTW....I've used AutoCAD for a number of years and I'm still learning too. LOL Quote
RocketSurgeon Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Sometimes I can REGEN and the dashed lines appear as expected. Quote
