Hi all

Im currently looking at the possibility of moving over to 3ds max for my work animations and renders. I currently use inventor 2012 and showcase for my rendering and animations but have reached what feels like a brick wall as showcase is brilliant for rendering but animation it only uses stills and Inventor seems to take an age to do a simple animation with parts only fading in and out and still comes out with errors when it finishes. I am wondering if 3ds max would be faster and more reliable. I have never used it before but the company I work for is considering sending me on a training course so it is a big commitment  so any advice would be welcome :)

Thanks

Well, Studio Max is a 3D modeling and animation program used by professional studios all over the world, so I'm sure it would be able to handle your animations with no problem. But as far as it being faster, I doubt it. Animation takes time. If you do a lot of this sort of thing you may want to look into upgrading your computer or possibly building a render farm.
