hello,

i have a few dwgs to xref together, two of them xref perfectly but the other xrefs into the model space miles away from the other two, but its still the same scale.

i'm pretty much a novice at autocad so any help would be great as to how i could maybe get the third dwg to sit with the other two..!?

thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Apparently the third drawing was oriented in a different coordinate system. In civil work we have state plane coordinates, that is, each state has a 0,0 point somewhere, and most drawings are laid out in relation to that point. It prevents the type of confusion you're having.

Find a point or landmark that is common to both drawings. You can use that as your base point to move the xref from where it was inserted to where it belongs.
