tzframpton
Try to use eTransmit instead. That usually always works even when I get errors such as these.
brl2008
thank you StykFacE i tried that eTransmit and followed some step form another thread that cad64 did. so save to my desk top and autocad open, i go to open find file and try to open it and get this message "cannot find the specified drawing file please verify that the file exists." but close autocadd and open file from my desktop and scroll down to the DWG icon double click on it, will open in autocadd as read only. that sound right don't it again thanks for the help brl2008
RobDraw
Another method would be to insert the drawing as a block. First make sure you have the insertion point of the XREF. Detach it and the insert as a block.
Tiger
I get this error mostly when I have x-refs with Proxy Objects in them, i.e. they have been created by an Autodesk Vertical or Microstation. Once in a while I have succeeded in cleaning the offending x-ref enough so it works to bind it (run audit, purge -purge > R (note the hyphen), delete all unecessary information) but that is very rare. It needs to be done in the X-ref itself though. But the easiest is often to do what Rob suggests, insert it as a block instead.
paul1966
i had the same problem sometimes too due to proxy objects, however since i downloaded the object enablers from autodesk i have not had the problem, touch wood!
The_SuperVixen
I do the same as mentioned before when I have this problem. Detach the Xref, purge the drawing and insert the xref file as a block.
