Ramana Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Dear Members, Greetings, I am good at CAD, now i started working with revit, I have installed the evaluation version of Revit MEP, I could create walls properly, but i am unable to add doors are windows, it is asking to load door family or window family. I have strucked here, what is this. How to sort out this issue. Please help me to get into the concepts Thanks in advance Ramana Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 I am not a Revit expert by any means, and I have a different version than you do so what I'm going to show you here may not be the same on yours. I have Revit Architecture 2009, so the MEP version may be different. In my version, you have to click on "door" on the far left, then go up to the selection box just above that and select the door you want. If you don't see the one you want, move to the right and click "load". That will bring up a dialog box that will offer all the doors you have on your system. If you still don't find the one you want you will have to create it using the "create in place" button. Quote
Lee Roy Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Commands are relatively the same Jack, so no worries. @ Ramana - You need the elements/objects loaded into the project before you can place them. To do this, you must "Load" them from your library; in 2010+ versions, click "Insert" tab, "Load Family" button. I'm not trying to be mean, but if you're having issue with this small feat, Revit MEP is going to chew you up and spit you out. I HIGHLY recommend taking an "Intro to Revit" class before proceeding further. Quote
