exporting to photoshop

Recommended Posts

Hi, i've been going through your tutorials on CADtutor, i'm self taught and have been working with CAD for about 1 year. I use autoCAD LT 2008 and also have toolbox LT 2009 as a bolt on for 3D imaging. I also use photoshop for my presentations and i find it very easy to use the print screen method, however i think i need to try and export to EPS.

I followed the instructions in the tutorial

File > export

Change 'Files of Type' to 'Encapsulated PS'

but when i try and change 'Files of Type', it only gives me the option of

Metafile (*.wmf)

Block (*.dwg)

V8 DGN (*.DGN)

Can't find 'Encapsulated PS'

Help!

Hope someone can help, thankyou

Sarah

currently i haven't been trying to export a 3d rendered image, just a very basic 2d image.

I do however work with 3d rendered images and therefore would need to be able to do this.

Usually, one way to export a view in CAd is to use SAVEIMG command for rendered Views. It can export as JPG image.

BUt render command from cad2007 and above already exports rendered views to JPG

As for 2D plans, the best would be to save as PDF files, then google a software that can convert PDF to JPG. im not sure if Adobe can save its files directly to JPG

awts, sorry, it must not be included in the LT version of CAD. :D

Render command already exports to JPG, but again im not sure for the LT version.

You'll get some more input from the moderators on this.

As for 2D Drawings, PDF is the way to go
