Delete outside an area

I'm sure I've done this before but just can't remember how:

 

I've put something in my paperspace and need to delete it but can't find it, when I zoom extents I can't see anything i.e. as if I've zoomed out into space somewhere... Is there anyway I can window my layout and say "delete everything outside this"?

Input "all" at erase selection prompter and next press to deselect whatever you want to keep.

If in model space a couple of suggestions look on your screen for two pixels 1 will be your job the other what you accidently put there, the other way is to window say 1/4 of the screen and a grip should appear zoom in etc
