Whenever I open an autocad file, an autolisp file will get created in the folder along with a .vlx file. Why is this so, how can I avoid this?

Posted

You have a unique macro virus called acad.vlx and this will continue to happen until such time as you take corrective measures to stop it in its tracks.

By going that thread, I am hesitating to download that, what more can I try?

You could wipe your drive and reload everything. There is no guarantee you wouldn't reinfect yourself unless you paid better attention to the sources of drawings, macros and lisp files you routinely allow onto your system.

Thanks for your quick reply. After reformatting and reloading the disk, i got this problem. Any how, i shall try it once agian.

Do you work at a company that deals with drawings from outside sources?

Posted

Yah! we are consultancy, we regularly get drawings and send back to them after processing.

That's probably the source of your problem and the reason you continue to get reinfected. You'll have to put in some safeguards otherwise you'll be dealing with this same problem on a daily basis.

Take a look at what Shawn Hurley wrote in his blog. He is well-respected in the AutoCAD community.
