the drawing is attached

Where would you like to start? Top, front, right or left side view?

Did you know that if you did this in 3D you could derive the 2D views from the 3D solid model?

Attach here the dwg file of what you have attempted so far.

Start with this.

Sorry, but I always seem to have a problem reading some of these posted images so the geometry could be off a bit. JDM will set me straight though.

You can create the 2D projections in AutoCAD 2012 using the VIEWBASE command.

You can control the scale (notice that the ISO is smaller than the other views) as well as the color of the various automatically created layers. I've choosen to make everything on layer HIDDEN to display in color Blue.

Caveat: For demonstration purposes only. Your results may vary. Have fun.

Uhmm, I meant the OP, not you Remark.

Give em a chance to at least show they've made some sort of attempt at solving the problem on their own.

megamind owes you a check.

It's just a pretty picture since no drawing file was attached but his lack of response was overwhelming.

I can take it down. No problem.

Sorry...no can do. Consider the first one of gift of sorts to show you what could be done. For the next one you are on your own. If you have any questions though we'd be happy to answer them. Go ahead, give it a shot. I have every confidence in your ability to do it so don't let me down. Quick....we don't have all day. LoL

You should be able to knock that one out in about 60 seconds in 3D. I'll give you 90-120 secs for the 2D if you use the VIEWBASE command.

Ready...set...GO! The clock is ticking. Stop reading and start doing!

You should be done already with your 3D and your 2D views by now. Show us what you have accomplished.

i'm very grateful for your help and encouragement

actually this is my first course in engineering drawing

and this is my second week studying this subject

that's why i'm not doing well but i'll try my best

thanks

Post what you have done so far and add any questions you have to it.

Dude, did you fall asleep? We don't have all day here. Things to do, places to go, people to see. Stuff like that, ya know?

Just one and it is regarding the Front view. It appears you may have one extra line in the base the coincides with the rounded piece above. Otherwise, it looks pretty good. What method did you use to construct your 2D views?

Posted

i used the method of the third angle orthographic projection

thanks a lot for helping me

So in other words you drew these views from scratch and did not derive them from a 3D solid model. That's good. Wait until you try it my way. You'll be the envy of all the kids in your class and maybe even your teacher too.

for the previous drawing does the LSV going to look like this?

i know i made you wanna scream by asking so many questions

but i have to submit this tomorrow

Well in this case you already have the image I previously posted to work from (even if the view is opposite) so I'm not quite sure why you are asking. Although, something in the left side image does not look correct. You might have another go at it.

And for your information, you did not want to make me scream. There are only two people here at CADTutor that make me want to scream and I won't divulge their names! LoL

Just keep on doing what you're doing. You'll be fine.

Does the assignment include dimensioning the objects as well?

Posted

sorry i didn't notice that

and yes the dimensions required
