I am doing some tooling drawings for my company. I am using AutoCad LT 2008. When I email my drawings, I have to convert them to Autocad 2004 so the tooling company can open the drawings. They then convert it to Mega Cad 4.8 to import it into their system. My problem is that any text in my drawings does not show up for them in either programs. I have tried several different fonts, but nothing works. This is causing time consuming problems for both of us. Anyone have any suggestions?

What font are you using? Is it a SHX or TTF font?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried both. Originally I used TT Arial. I have also used TT Verdana and the Standard.txt which I believe is a shx font. None worked.

What kinds of fonts does Mega Death Star CAD 4.8 utilize (i.e. - come with the software)?

My vendor says that Mega Cad supports TT and .vft fonts. No mention of .shx fonts.

And which fonts did you specifically use in your AutoCAD drawing?

I tried two different TT fonts, Arial and Verdana, and AutoCad's standard default .shx font.

Well forget the standard.shx font because you already know it won't work in the other program.

Both Arial and Verdana come in different styles. Example: Arial Bold is not the same as Arial as far as Windows is concerned.

Then you have to know if the person who is getting the drawing has the same Windows TTF fonts loaded as you do.
