platinum home Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I just purchased a HP designjet 510 printer. I mainly do residential homes and wondering what type of paper I can get by with. I mainly just do black and white prints. Quote
ReMark Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Twenty pound bond...coated should work just fine. If it is a roll fed printer then consider buying a carton (4 rolls) for the best price break. What width? I know that you can get 24" wide rolls in 150 foot lengths. Quote

Twenty pound bond will be all you need as long as you don't have solid fills over large areas or try to print photos or renderings. If you occasionally do any of that, you may want to keep a roll (or a package of cut sheets) of something heavier to switch out to when printing stuff like that. The ink will saturate the lighter paper and give you poor results. For occasional use the cost of the heavier paper wouldn't have much of an impact spread out over time. Quote
platinum home Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Awesome. Thanks everyone. It is a 24" roll. Quote
