SMP Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Good Day all. I have a conundrum. I don't typically play around too much with the CUI but i guess i have reached that point that i need to start asking questions. Iam now upgraded to Civil 3D 2012 and Here's the deal. The workspace i will need 50% of the time is the Civil 3D defualt. The other 50% Will be in the Planning And Analysis workspace. Mainly just the mapping stuff. IS it possible to make a custom workspace that combines the two? If yes, how do i do it? Quote
BlackBox Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Start by creating a new, custom workspace which will be stored within your Main CUI(x). You can do this in the drawing environment using the Workspace Command, or from within the CUI Editor itself, on the Customization Tab, you can Right Click the Workspaces Node and Select New Workspace. Once you have created your new workspace, you can customize it to your liking by adding myriad menus, toolbars, QAT, and ribbon tabs to your liking. For more information, consult the Customization Guide's Customize Workspaces topic. HTH Quote
Dadgad Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Remember to NAME and SAVE it. You will have options such as setting your home workspace, and whether or not to lock components in their docked positions, or let them float, and whether or not the workspace automatically saves any changes to your already saved configuration, or not. I have a number of different task-specific workspaces set up for different types of work, really easy to do, and very convenient. If you choose to lock all of your layouts and you need to move an element in your workspace you can do so by holding down the CTRL button, and drag it to wherever you want it. Once you let go of the CTRL button everything is locked in place again. Quote
