Assuming your sheet size is limited to available printer - you might add some additional sheets with detail views.

Does your instructor grade the printed sheets or the digital file (I always grade the file but record the grade on the printed sheets with redlines for the student.)

Yes, we already discussed utilizing a 1:250 scale. As I said I find that unsuitable for an architectural drawing but the teacher probably doesn't care. It is the only scale that best fits the A3 sheet size so I guess the OP is stuck with it.

May I point out you could have always turned you plan around and print in portrait not landscape that would allow for a larger paper use wouldnt it ? you can move you notes if they get lost to one side

Question why would anyone ask you to draw a large plan and expect it to fit on A3 ? we do print lots of our site electrical plans to A3 just for ease on site and they can me read depending on the size of the house etc I have printed your drawing at A4 as I am at home and it can still be read ok on A4 paper so A3 would be even better.

End of the day if you save it to A1 when it comes to printing the drawing it can made to fit any size paper it just wont be to scale and I would have thought that would matter in your case as the drawing is to small at A3
