Just upgraded to Autocad 2013 and I've noticed that if you click a dimension then right click the "dimension text position" is missing. Also double clicking it to get to properties, under text position I don't get the option to change to sat centred or above line.

So much for progress. Any ideas on how to get it back. I've switched to classic view if this has any effect.

It sounds like you have your right click short-cut menu turned off. I still get those shortcut options coming up on the right click with 2013.

Are you aware that if you click on the dimension, then hover over the grip at the center of the dimension line turning it red, that you will get a drop down menu containing those options? Additionally if you want to FLIP ARROWS or DIMCONTINUE or BASELINE DIM, that these options will come up if you hover over one of the end grips of the dimension line :)

The first time you double click on a dimension, calling up the TEXT FORMATTING toolbar, you will be able to define the default behavior for your new version.

I like to be able to hit ESC to save a text edit. If you edit your text, then hit your ESC key you will be asked how you want that to be interpreted in the future.

Right-click menu is on, just as I had it set in 2011.

Thanks for the bit about the drop down menu though. This gives me the option I was after.

You're welcome, I use those options all the time too.

I really like setting my right click preference for time sensitive, if you have never tried it, you might enjoy it too.

No doubt you have already noticed that most grips now, if hovered over, will turn red and yield drop down options.

If you have never tried it, and work with 3D solids, check out the VIEWBASE functionality.

I have the hover-over menu you mentioned, but I still didn't have the option for modifying dimtext position. I found that I could add it via the cui in the shortcut menus section.

Don't right click, pick the dim, then hover over the grip at the text.

As barrowfordred said above...

"Thanks ...."

The fine line between he end grips and the text grip escaped me but performance is as described.
