donaldo Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I recently started using v2012 after some time using 2006 2008. I frequently would use the ED command to add text to a dim line but it appears 2012 uses a different command for this. Any takers please? Quote
MSasu Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 The ED was the shortcut for DDEDIT command; probably was changed in version 2012. Just call the ALIASEDIT command (from Express pack) to change/add like you want. Quote
ReMark Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 ED still shows up in the AutoCAD 2012 acad.pgp file as being the shortcut for DDEDIT. I just checked. Quote
nestly Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Perhaps check that PICKFIRST=1, if you prefer to select the dimension first? Quote
Dadgad Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 You can just DOUBLE left click anywhere on the dimension to open the TEXT FORMATTING tool. Quote
donaldo Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks guys. DDEDIT did the trick but ED didn't give the command I wanted at least not on my installation though admittedly it needs to have a repair run on it. Quote
ReMark Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Did you check your acad.pgp file? I'm using 2012 right now and typed in the letters "ED" and DDEDIT was invoked (as expected). If you type those letters in what happens exactly? Nothing? Or do you get an "Unknown command" response from AutoCAD? Quote
